Peace and Reconciliation Coordinator
Roble Dahir is a Master’s Degree in Development Studies holder who also reading his second MA program in Peace, Governance and Development at UN University for Peace. He serves as a Peace and Reconciliation Coordinator for the Ministry of Interior of Somalia, he collaborates with the Federal Government of Somalia, Federal Member States, Local Authorities, Peace Committees, Community Organizations and Implementing Partners to create peace synergies and overcome the prolonged conflict between Puntland and Galmudug communities in Galkayo town which is one of the most violent conflict places in Somalia. Prior to that, Mr. Roble served as Researcher for Somali Observatory of Conflict and Violence Prevention (OCVP) and as University Lecturer at East Africa University in Puntland. He has vast field experience in conflict management & transformation, mediation, reconciliation, peace-building and leadership. He built the capacity of hundreds of youth groups, women, elders, local organizations and networks in Somalia for stability, social cohesion and peace. He has facilitated more than 400 Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews and co-authored more than 20 large reports, capturing data on conflict, security, governance, socio-economy, and justice-related indicators. Mr. Roble was a member of the Integrity and Anti-corruption Committee for the Presidential Election of Somalia in February 2017. This committee was nominated by the Speaker of the House of the People of Federal Parliament of Somalia.
